Although a number of studies have attempted to measure the economic impact of broadband services, few recent analyses have focused solely on developing countries. This is largely explained by data issues, including the lack of sufficiently reliable or long time series to support meaningful statistical analysis. In order to assess the economic effect of the uptake of broadband services, this study encompasses a cross-sectional time-series analysis with a focus on least developed countries (LDCs), landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) and small island developing states (SIDS), for the period 2000 to 2017.
