Digital Inclusion

In cooperation with G3ict (the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies), ITU publishes e‑accessibility policy toolkits for persons with disabilities. ICT accessibility for all implies removing barriers so persons with visual, hearing, mobility, dexterity or cognitive disabilities can also benefit from all ICTs including mobile phones and television. The model ICT accessibility policy report is designed as a tool for national policy-makers and regulators to create their own ICT accessibility policy frameworks.

Making Mobile Phones and Services Accessible for Persons with Disabilities

This joint G3ict/ITU report is the result of several years of inquiry on the topic of mobile accessibility.This cooperation is driven by the same objective: to identify and promote effective mobile solutions to benefit persons with disabilities. It compiles and analyses different ways in which mainstream accessible mobile phone technologies and services are already implemented around the world by various stakeholders. It includes a wealth of practical information and case studies which can serve as a foundation to promoting accessible mobile phones and mobile assistive technologies.
